To put it simply, this is a nice place to chill, watch the game, and have a beer. I like the grouper burrito. Afterwards, head over to their sister bar, "Igots" to have some added fun.

I love Dave's. Cold beer, great raw bar and a street side view of Lake Worth. Staff is freindly and the atmosphere is Key West like.

I go here when I don't wanna deal with the pretentious uppity upscale spots I usually go to... Its close to Palm Beach and its just a fun area and very good for people watching.. It reminds me of something you would find in Key West... They have a lot of outdoor seating... We usually just get a bunch of appetizers and drink and just people watch... I love the wings on the grill and the Mahi Mahi Wrap is so good... That wil a tall glass of Blue moon and Im good.. They also have a really good Tuna Salad.... The waiters are really friendly and the service is fast and consistent... This place is good for during the day or at night.. Good Location next to a bunch of bars and other restaurants...

I enjoy their out door seating. I have been hear 5 times. 1st time - Had hair in 2 of our dishes - minus 2 stars 2nd time - Sat in a booth with my daughter for 20 minutes without any service and finally got feed up and left. - minus 2 stars 3rd time - Was ok, went with a friend for appetizers and a few drinks +1 star 4th time - Lobster smelled like it had died on the beach and then boiled. -minus 2 stars *I guess I like giving people a chance* 5th time - Server was awesome, very sweet and personal (I am a big one for customer service!) Ordered the deep fried oysters and black beans delicious! (I would go back again just for this dish!) Drinks were nice and stiff +2 stars

I was brought here by a friend to watch NFL. They have some great specials at game time and the food is good. Our entire party was happy with everything they ordered. When asked for extras the waitress brought all you could ever want whether it be jalapenos, crackers, etc. I would recommend getting the grilled wings. It's a different taste than your standard fried wings; they are nice and tender. The atmosphere is casual and our waitress was super funny. She kept the drinks flowing. As a side note, it appears that this bar is a frequent for Pittsburgh Steelers fans.

Wow. Only been once but everything was great. The coconut shrimp is out of this world! Also enjoyed the lobster tail side.

I liked this bar & restaurant! Haven't been here in a few years, so my review is probably terribly out of date. If I say anything that encourages you to go there and you end up being disappointed because, say, they don't have the Yeungling on tap that I remember so fondly, then please do accept my apologies. But that Yeungling on tap outside of Pennsylvania was such a find! (It's common in Florida, I later found out, but wow. Just around the corner from my apartment, too!) Lake Worth is a charming little town in its prettiest parts, shady and not so nice when its ugly underbelly is exposed. Dave's is in the pretty nice section of town--a few blocks of palm tree-lined streets, funky Florida establishments that aren't snobby or too chic for your pocketbook (as is the case in beautiful Delray), and just a handful of blocks from the crystalline blue waters of the Atlantic. Good bar food, fish sandwiches, cold beer, and such. Not your typical bar selections--Dave's was above par. Fun to hang out at in the wee hours, as well.

After giving Dave's a few more chances, I can confidently say that the bad service I previously received was rare. The service has been great ever since. While the food is not particularly fresh or unique, it is great bar food. Along with cheap drinks and a fun atmosphere, Dave's is usually an enjoyable experience.

The only thing we like at Dave's Last Resort is the "Scrub Sandwich", a big and sloppy fish sandwich with sauce and lettuce and stuff. By the way, you won't see any "rednecks" there - there are very few in the Lake Worth area. Dave's Last Resort is in a very hip downtown section that also features many other good places to visit. (sorry to disagree with the poster that says otherwise, but I've lived in Lake Worth for 29 years and I simply must state what I know to be true - no offense meant!)

The house specialty fried grouper, seared ahi tuna, peel and eat shrimp. I'm in W. Palm Beach, I want seafood, dammit!! Well, the shrimp tasted good - the grouper I so looked forward to was so-so and I'm being generous. The ahi tuna had to be sent back. I don't know why I ordered that dish - but it should be taken off the menu. The server was kind enough to take it off my bill - one bite and it was EWW. Beers, peel and eat shrimp - go for it. Not too sure about their other dishes. Cool, relaxing place with plenty of TVs and a friendly ,staff. I will be back!

I live in downtown lake worth and faithfully bring friends and family to your restaurant! I was in there today with my daughter for lunch and ordered a club. I ate a third of it and picked on it a bit and it just didn't taste right! I told the server and was charged for it anyway, even though it didn't taste right and I didn't eat it! I haven't felt well since then! I am a mgr of a restaurant and a mgr never came to the table! I am disappointed and will think of another restaurant to take my family to this coming street painting festival!

This is not going to win any foodie awards but it is better bar food than the sports bar chains in the area. Great outdoor seating, varied menu and some very good dishes (the pecan chicken and brie salad, scrub sandwich and the grilled wings). Two things keep it from being a four star rating - inconsistency from the kitchen and pretty bad service (Keith is the best there). Typically these things turn me off of a restaurant but I guess I keep going back in the hopes they'll fix (or have fixed) these problems.

FORGET about the Irish bar across the street. This place is a find! LIke the crowd, which ranges from local rednecks to retirees, the menu is broad, and is excellent across the board. Typical bar fare, wings, burgers, taters, are uniformly well preparerd. Raw bar is nice'n cold and fresh .. The fried oysters were as good as any I have ever had in New England. And ..hold on, I had a crab and shrimp salad on a bed of greens that was as fine as I have ever had. The mango vinagrette complimented it well. Feel like partyin'? 8 beers on tap. All kinds of funkyass mixed drinks, if that is your thing. 6 tvs to watch what ever sports are on. Decor is a non event, and the lighting could be better, but for great food at a place where the locals go, at a price that won't give you gas, this place is great. Sidewalk seating great if you can get it. I 'm going back the next time I am in town.

dave's would be my last resort...the lunch we ordered was at best mediocre..we ordered a grouper sandwich it came out on a bun that was stale the fish was oveer cooked and smelly our waitress was no where to be found we pick on our lunch and could not wait to leave...and then the check came, woo they charged me 17.00 dollars for a fish sandwich.i was shocked paid my bill mever to return....take heed.....

Now that you've ended up in Lake Worth go to the Irish bar, Brogues, across the street. Dave's didn't impress me, sorry. The waitress who thought my date was a model reserved the second star.

Unfortunately every time I come here the food is never on point. Sweet spot because it's down town. I'd recommend staying away from the seafood. Not sure how fresh it really is. I got extremely sick when eating there yesterday. Fish and chips weren't good. A lot of things are market price which is expected for seafood. But are you getting what your paying for? Be careful and know your fish. Great for drinks. I'd recommend happy hour though. Not sure if they do it at the tables.

Was here last week with my boyfriend and his son. As expected from most raw bars, they had wooden booths. We had one by the window in the front away from everyone else because it was noisy considering it was game night and around 12am. The restaurant is an open window bar, cool breezes everywhere. The hostess and the 2 female waitresses we had were friendly. We had 2 because since it was late, they were doing chores to close up. And our original waitress wasn't around for a couple times we had questions or problem with our order. We ordered oysters, clams, the El Gordo burger, buffalo wings and the kid meal order of Mac & Cheese. Oysters: 9/10 Delicious, a little salty but not so much that it's bothersome plus expected considering it's prob from the ocean. Loved it. Wish I had more. :( Clams: 2/10 was not good at all, we had 12 clams and only ate 2. I tried one and my boyfriend tried one. So salty I could taste the whole Atlantic Ocean. It was not pleasant. We had to send it back & replaced it with the Buffalo Wings. El Gordo Burger: 9/10 oh my goodness this was delicious. A little liquidy. But loved it. Definitely something new to try. Buffalo Wings: 9/10 crispy with the sauce poured over, it was definitely tummy satisfying. Mac&Cheese: 7/10 it was good but the Mac & cheese tastes too buttery. My boyfriend son likes it though, I've never seen him devour a bowl of food like that. :) French Fries: 10/10 expected from French fries, crispy and lightly seasoned. Yummy to munch on Staff Review: 10/10 they were friendly, pleasant and attended to every need we needed and asked for. I was a bit of a pain, I asked for Celery sticks and pickled and they gave it to me without hesitation. I knew they were tired and wanted to go home as well. Thanks ladies!!

I'm glad we took a shot at this place because the reviews weren't great. I was especially happy since they had a special gluten free menu and gluten free beer. We were looking for a fun place for lunch and this really was the only place that seemed to offer a good ambiance by the ocean. It was nice and open, and although the seats outside and by the windows were taken we could see the street from our table by the bar. Our waitress was friendly and gave suggestions to my boyfriend about the food. My boyfriend ordered the garlic clams and said they were "spectacular". Come to find out later our own waitress steamed the clams herself. I ordered the gluten free burrito and it was ok. Sometimes I forget how tough gluten free tortilla shells can be. I could have done without the cooked and dried up cheddar cheese on too of it. Next time I'm going to order one of their gluten free pasta dishes. My bf is big on having resturant managers come and talk to us, and Perry the manager was very happy to oblige and give us more history on the restaurant and talk about the area. All in all we had a good experience here. Our waitress seemed to have 70% of the tables in the place, but kept to our needs. The food was decent and the beer was cold. We will definitely be back!

Didn't stay long. My husband (who is Mexican) saw they had a drink called "Illegal alien" (pic posted) I was disgusted and told him we should go. Like even naming the drink the Mexican would've showed better taste. And my frozen margarita tasted like strawberry flavored ice. I'm giving them 2 stars because the waitress was accommodating and didn't charge us for the margarita. Just the beer my husband had.

Went for drinks on a Friday night. First time here. I had a Chardonnay which was only $3.00 and tasted watered down and Hubby had a Tito's on the rocks. Well, the Tito's was $6.00 but they charged him $2.50 for the rocks? Seriously? $2.50 for a small glass of ice in the Vodka? We're not cheapskates by any means but I have NEVER heard of charging anyone for ice. I see no reason to go back at all.

Nice atmosphere but definitely does not fit my definition of a Steelers Bar! Yes the owner is from Pittsburgh and there is a Terrible Towel hanging on the wall but there is little Steelers Fever in the place during a prime time game against the Ravens! My husband & I were vacationing in South Florida & were looking to experience Steelers Nation at a Steelers Bar & we were disappointed. Only 6 Steeler fans dressed in black & gold. Wait staff were friendly but not dressed in Steelers garb. The place is more friendly neighborhood bar and not a Destination to watch the Steelers game while in South Florida. Beer was cold. Food was pretty good. Prime Rib was tasty & perfectly prepared. Wings were flavorful. Pass on the conch fritters as they were full of breading & greasy.

Dave's is very hit or miss. This last visit was definitely 3.5 stars but sometimes it's only a 2. Pros : * It's usually pretty lively so if your looking for a fun crowd you should find it there. *They have several TV's if game watching is your thing. *Wings are always good and they have a full bar and decent beer on tap. *When the weather is nice you can sit outside and people watch which is great cause they are next to Igots Bar and you never know who or what will emerge from there. Cons: *Service is usually bad and you tend to get ignored by your server ( our last waiter was outstanding though so either we got lucky or they are getting better) * The menu is huge and after eating there more times then I can count I have only had a few good things.. Now I stick with the wings, gator and fish sandwiches. * They always seem to have " Just ran out" of the craft beers. I did have one once :) * The food seems to take too long to come out. Not sure if it's the cooks or the servers. Dave's is your typical South Florida Dive. If your ok with hanging out for a while to get your food and are in a laid back kinda mood then try them out and order the Gator Bites...Yum

The 1st time I ate here yrs. ago, the soup was soo salty that I had to send it back. The next time, a year ago.....my friends seafood dish had bad seafood in it. Thurs., I reluctantly returned because my friends family was in from out of town. Be careful when ordering a draft beer ! They consider Blue Moon on tap an over $6 'craft' beer. I wish I'd seen that on the menu. $18.95 for a mere three drafts. Served with a 'sour tasting' / unsweet orange, shocked me. A lot of other bars in palm beach county have the same beer for 1/2 that price. Also, don't opt for changing your grouper from fried to grilled for healthy reasons. They used tons of corn or veg. oil on it. It may as well have been fried. If your in a party of 8, they may tack on the gratuity which is fine , but server we had didn't even politely tell us they did. So, between the crafty beer price & the untold grat. We all has sticker shock. In our party, she'd have made more without the grat. included, or at least in explaining the grat. was on there. Maybe she was hoping for the ole double tip. I'm guessing she was too young or inexperienced to gauge how this would affect us on a personal level. Server was attentive, nice, & cordial....which is why would've left more $ ......but I had to borrow some off my friend due to the three drafts for $20 bucks. : ( Also, we were going to stay & keep drinking & watch the game after dinner....which would've heightened that gratuity, but we were made to feel like she wanted us to close out the tab & move on. No inquiry into dessert & checks in hand gave us that clue.

I usually love Dave's. I mean I usually eat here two or three times a week, but today I was seated n was given my drink. There was like NO one in the place and after waiting 15 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our order, we just got up and left. Worst service I've ever received there!

The things you can safely order and enjoy: peel n' eats (hot or cold, both are good), pecan chicken and brie salad (REALLY excellent), and any of their wraps. They're actually a hidden gem for those who want to skip the fried food and sandwiches scene. But I would say that when I try things I don't normally eat there, I'm usually a bit disappointed. Service is iffy. Just depends on the time and the server.

My husband and I went up to Lake Worth for a change of scenery after liking the downtown area at last weekend's street art festival. We didn't have a place in mind so we just browsed the avenue checking out menus. Dave's Last Resort was just our style, a laid back beach vibe with a varied seafood menu. We got to sit outside which is always preferred when available. We were able to enjoy the weather and people watch while we waited for dinner. I ordered the dolphin piccata with fresh veggies and my husband got the cajun grouper. One word for both: yum! The dolphin was fresh and light with a complimentary home made lemon piccata sauce. The capers really made the sauce delicious. My husband very much enjoyed his grouper; midway through saying how happy he was that we chose Dave's. He especially liked the crawdads on top and the authentic Louisiana cajun kick in the sauce. Our dishes were so good in fact that when brought to us, the table next to us asked us what they were. They looked as good as they tasted. There are tons of seafood favorites to try so Dave's, we'll be back!

It's not fancy but the food is fresh, decent and a good value. The $15 fried oyster appetizer comes with 15 oysters - ok, even a guy like me who can't do simple calculations without a calculator can tell you this is $1 per oyster. These were medium sized and very fresh-tasting. It's got to be the best deal in town. The blackened grouper was good too. The key lime pie was a winner.

It's got the top notch small town dive bar status with the solid bar food to back it up! Not the 5 star romantic dinner spot, but it's your go to hangout bar for certain.

This is a nice little beachy-type bar in Lake Worth. The place has a lot of personality with a ton of things hanging on the wall and a pretty nice menu that goes beyond typical bar food. There are a bunch of TV's all over, so it is a great place to go watch sports. The bad thing about this place is that the food quality is VERY inconsistent. This is a real hit or miss type place. I have been here and had a great meal and other times the foods been pretty off. I have had a great drink here and other times I swear they forgot the alcohol. They make a great grilled oyster...when they make a great grilled oyster...unfortunately you can't count on which type you are going to get. It seems lately that more often than not the food has not been great. We were there during a recent Miami Dolphin game and the place was packed! We had to wait for a table. Unfortunately, it seemed like the kitchen was a little freaked out with the business because the food reflected that they were harried. I had a spinach artichoke dip that was obviously thrown together...they didn't even bother to chop the artichokes...it was kind of gross to have these huge chunks of artichoke in what is supposed to be a dip! The oysters were barely seasoned and came out rubbery and cold. It is a shame about this place because it has the potential to be really great if they can get their kitchen in order and get the food to a reliable, consistent serving.

Dave's Last Resort is aimed at tourists and visitors grabbing dinner after a long day at the beach. With an extensive menu ranging from gluten free shrimp wraps to novelty burgers, every picky eater in your party is sure to find something appealing. With the ideal location and huge menu, though, the prices are slightly steep. An average Mahi Mahi sandwich and fries racked up $18.99! Appetizers and drinks during Happy Hour are a good deal, though. I've visited Dave's twice in the last month and have been pleased with the food and experience both times. The staff is friendly and attentive to both humans and dogs (yes, you may bring your dog to the outdoor seating) and the food is enjoyable. I had the Lake Worth Pier Salad- a seafood salad with an Asian twist and it was both unusual and flavorful. I would visit again only because there were so many options to choose from!

Enjoy the food and the atmosphere!! Wonderful Everytime I'm there. Food is always outstanding no matter what I order!! It's a welcome environment!!! Servers are always very friendly and polite! I enjoy eating outside because I can bring my dog. The inside is a very nice environment too.

I have to say the food was good (typical bar food with a slight twist - dolphin, black beans and rice, etc.) the service is what killed my rating. Our waitress was good at first, to get our drink orders then that's about it. We thought she quit her job after she took our drink orders because it took forever for her to come back with them and to take our food order. She got the wrong drink for my mother, got something wrong with each of our entrees (my side and my mothers order completely) and we waited awhile to get the check. I noticed other servers were all over the place, being attentive, just not ours - wish I remembered her name.

Stopped by this restaurant for lunch and had a terrible experience. First I sat outside for a table and waited 10 minutes. Another table sat down after us and was taken care before we were. We finally put in our food order and it was rather long for a non busy day. I also asked my waitress for more sauce for my po boy and had to ask for it again once she came back 5 minutes later. Once the check came I showed her my coupon and she said she would apply it. Got my check and she didn't apply it. Had to talk to a manager to get everything settled. Took way too much time. The service is terrible and I would not recommend going back.

I've been here before and had a decent time with some friends. Came back here a few nights ago while stuck in the desolate, not so fun, super far west Boynton Beach to visit family... I'm a Fort Lauderdale type guy, as that's my home town, I like Lake Worth a lot though. Cute ghetto little town. Anyway- back to the review. Came in this time with 2 girls, almost slipped on some random red crap on the floor, with no "wet floor sign". I think/hope/pray it was salsa. There were 2 "IDGAF" or "DILLIGAF" young bar tenders. One was particularly not giving a $hit, because he commented on the "salsa" that my friend, and I, both almost tripped on... said something like: "This ain't TGI Fridays, we aren't trying to clean up on aisle 5 over here, but we should all go there, because that'd be awesome". He was serving a bunch of eleventeen year olds who were there on Spring Break... One thing that I can't stand about my home town, is "spring break forever"... So in short, this place is hit or miss. Hope you get a better bar tender than the d bag who was macking it to underage girls while serving them, and trying to show off like a 12 year old too. I think I'll just go ahead and avoid this spot in the future though, as I was rather unimpressed.

I have been here a few times before and it was fine. I am vegan and on a previous visit the waiter said they could give me the portabella wrap without the chicken and cheese and I wanted avocados. It arrived and was fabulous. I stopped in today and wanted the same dish. I explained very carefully to the waitress that I wanted the Portabella wrap with avocado and tom, lettuce and sprouts. She brought a wrap with eggplant and tomato. I sent it back, I don't care for eggplant and I had ordered portabella mushrooms. They brought out another wrap but this one had cheese in it. I had very carefully explained to the waitress that I don't eat any dairy such as butter or cheese. When I pointed out to her that the second wrap had cheddar cheese she took it back and then came back with the same wrap stating that it did not have cheese. I pointed out the cheddar cheese to her and she told me it was tomato! I know the difference between cheddar cheese and tomato! When she returned again with the same wrap she said that the kitchen would not make me another dish! So I sat at the table without food while the rest of my party finished their dishes. I didn't ask for anything complicated, I very carefully explained to her what I wanted and I found it rude that they refused to make me another dish. I will not return nor will I recommend it to anyone.

Good Crab Legs! But thats it. I'm sure you can get the same quality crab legs somewhere else but i dont have much else to say about the place. I give it 3 stars because it was just that- "A-OK". My friends got some Steak Salads- which looked fresh and they said it was good! Surprisingly though, they have french fries on the salads. Crazy thought! But it was good!!! Another friend had the Fish Dip, which to me, tasted more like ham. (weird) I've had better. The calamari was a little rubbery but it was good. Lets talk area- We went at night- so it was a little ghetto. I would not want to be around that area by myself. But it was an eclectic group passing by, Hippies, bums, ghetto, drinkers, bar-hoppers. It was all over. But many people brought their dogs with them to walk the streets or enjoy a nice dinner. I thought that was pretty cool. There are a few bars lining the streets but I recommend if you're a family type person- then I would suggest to return in the day time. I wouldnt bring my kids or any kids to these parts past sun down. Fun for a hipster though. A little divey. loud cars constantly driving by (if your seated outside) I'd return but I'd have to be in the type of dive bar mood.

i give it a 4 star bcuz the food is always delish, service sometimes questionable. Had a dozen oysters last weekend, they were cold and very fresh, enjoyed tremendously!! Had a chicken sandwich which was the special of the day and it was perfect with swiss cheese, thin slice of pineapple, bacon and a tangy BBQ sauce. Soooo good. I will be back!

I have been to Dave's many times over the years. It is a pretty busy place during dinner or game time and it does take a while to get your food. But, all of it is worth it. I love the atmosphere, its very laid back and super casual. The way to avoid waiting for your order is to sit at the bar. I promise you that the food will get to you a lot quicker. Their raw bar and overall menu are great. I am not sure why some people give this place such low scores, I like it and will keep coming back again and again.

So the service was OK. But nothing can override my experience ten hours after I ate at Dave's Last Resort. I had flashbacks of several experiences I had in India when I should not have eaten the raw vegetables. The food was not good but I was so hungry I ate a little more than half of my very oily veggie wrap which had a mysterious spongy cheese inside. There is no question that it made me sick. I am generally a very healthy eater, so maybe for someone with a stomach of steel, this place might be OK. My little organic belly couldn't handle it.

We came for the oysters and loved them. Our server was very friendly and helpful to ensure we selected the best options. We would return and would recommend to a tourist ooking for a seafood raw bar while visiting Florida.

I wanted to let someone know I finally had enough I have been coming to daves since I moved to lake worth 3 years ago I come about once sometimes twice a week and every time weather I sit at the bar or a table the service is horrible, I really don't know why I keep coming back? there are so many things that I can point out, let me add that I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 as every thing from a server/bartender to GM. I have had every thing from being double billed, wrong Togo orders, flat out ignored, wrong side items, wrong drinks, long waits on being greeted, order taken, food service, ticket times for food and drinks. Maybe your other guest don't mind this but I excepted more from daves. I hate to say I'm a regular but I am with the amount that i come in never once has a bartender told me there names I have been passed by repeated amounts of times when I wanted to order. Tonight i asked for a pitcher and got a single draft, the bartender long dark hair came by gave me a menu as well but then took 10 mins to return to ask what I would like to order but that was after I was looking at her for about 5 mins watching her talk to the guy next to me and cash him out get the order both drink and food for the girls that were friends from Rum Shack on the other side of me and cashing out an other gentleman on the other side of the bar 5 bar guest I guess was to much for her to handle even the other blonde short haired girl (Sam she had a name tag on) didn't even greet or try to get a order but did let the bar guest know she was cut. I seriously can go on. I really don't know why I come back every week? I might just stop after this and try something new there is plenty in the area. I hope things will change but by being in this industry and knowing what I do know you will read this show your mangers maybe the bartender but nothing will change I have been guilty of this with my concepts myself. But I do hope for a change.

This place had terrible service and actually didn't know about this yelp deal. Don't waste your time it's a basic beach bar that doesn't offer great deals.

Stopped in after walking downtown Lake Worth and decided on Dave's Last Resort. The service was okay- wait staff not overly attentive but not unattainable either. The drinks are pricy for what they are. My friend ordered a margarita and it was as watered down as it gets, and it was over $8. Not a good deal. I ordered the three sliders and it was mediocre. The flavors were off and it was just not appealing. Didn't finish it off and didn't feel bad about it. My friend ordered the 6.9 mile chicken sandwich and it was also bland. I would skip it next time...if nothing else for the lack of thought put into the food.

We always get their grilled wings. No deep fry here. Yummy. Pitchers of yeungling $8 for happy hour. Had the grilled dolphin with lobster sauce special ....fricken awesome. Huge portions as we split it and I am totally full. Cooked to perfection. Service can b sketchy but today, Ryan was working and he was spot on.

Great atmosphere, good food. Friendly employees! Seems to be our favorite place right now. Casual feel and always playing some good music! Good shrimp and crayfish.. Spinach dip is very good too. Also like the side salads.

Food is sooooo bad- service even worse most of the time. Inconsistent doesn't even begin to describe. If your gonna have crapy cheap food at least make sure it's consistent .... Like Taco Bell- now there's some good crapy good!!!! Don't bother with your meat temperature - medium well or well- those are petty much what you're going to get. Bartenders are nice though! Stick to the cheap drinks- hard to mess those up!

It's your typical sports bar. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. The waitstaff is friendly, the restaurant is clean and the food is alright. I am happy that they not only have a gluten-free menu but they also offer a veggie burger. Always nice to see a restaurant offer vegetarian options.

Decent sports bar with a mature crowd in downtown Lake Worth. Food is okay and wait staff is friendly. Like most reviewers said, Dave's is more for drinking but then maybe it's because I went there on a Friday night. Overall I had a good dining experience and didn't have any issues.

The chicken taco salad used to have, when the restaurant first opened, beautifully bronzed chicken. It is now just plain grilled chicken with no flavor. The salad comes with one tiny cup of salsa which is not nearly enough to keep the salad from being dry. When you ask for another cup of salsa, they charge you for it. Sad.

We came here after the beach very hungry. All I can say is yuck. I got a Captain Morgan burger and the sauce is gross. The fries were soggy and my husbands dinner was sub par which went with his warm flat beer. My daughter freaks when I complain which isn't often so I just scraped the sauce off the burger and drowned it with A1. The waitress was very nice and attentive.

Dining at Dave's has always been between a 3- and 4-star. I've often come here after the beach or on a breezy, beautiful afternoon for lunch; the food has always been good. Joanna, our waitress, was friendly and very accommodating. She was always around and checked on us often. The food we ordered was all from the appetizers and raw bar - super fresh and very delicious. The fish dip was great - we loved the spicy jalapenos on the side. The gator bites were pretty good, as well as the garlic clams; the drinks were decent, but my friend said the Coco Loco Margarita wasn't as sweet as she expected it to taste. My Ultimate Margarita was alright, but I got sick of the taste nearly halfway in. (Maybe the glass was just too big, or too much mix was used??) The point is, Dave's is nice for a relaxing time with friends - good seafood and friendly people.

3 1/2 stars. Happy that Lake Worth is making a come back. Used to visit Grandparents there as a child. Was saddened when it began to really deteriorate.Real turn around overpast few years. Someone described the city as "the next Delray." Started off with Margharitas. They are made without a mix and are fantastic. Wife had the Trigger fish special. Never heard of it but it was perfectly seasoned and very mild. Came with rice and choice of vege. I had the three kabobsover rice. Scallops wrapped in bacon, grilled spicy shrip and steak tidbits. The shrimp were delicious. The scallops were equally delicious once I removed the undercooked bacon. Steak was a bit tough. Very friendly staff.Extensive menu. Not too noisy even though a sports bar of sorts. Will return.

Everytime I go here its something diffrent. I love the raw food but my girlfriend chef and I ordered a new item it was not as described and just bad. It was funny hearing this chubby waitress across the bar tell us she didn't know what we are complaining about and how to consume it. We still spent over 70 bones at the bar and the male bartender was cool and accommodating. Just sucks how inconsistent this place is.

Sit at the bar for sports and you're good. Outside seating area does not have TV. Try the buffalo shrimp appetizer.

  • Adam P.

My experience with Dave's in the past has to just watch my game. Not for the food though its not bad. What really bothered me was they designate tv's to games & my game was not one of them. They would not change one of the tv's that was playing on 2 already. So I went to the bar across the street which has a better layout and has all the games playing. I will be going there from now on. I also saw a roach climbing on the wall. Was not surprised.

Laid back atmosphere with lots of outdoor seating. They are always busy (which can be a bad thing). The menu has lots of healthy choices that are affordable. Try the grilled Worth wings.

Place is a little dive in downtown lake worth - good raw bar and happy hour but beware that they claim they know nothing about the yelp check-in deal for the 9.99 bucket. Overall an ok experience....nice outdoor seating.

Only go here if this is your last resort. That may be a little over the top, it'd be a nice place for beer or to watch a game, but this is not a place to dine if you are concerned at all about how your food tastes. The GF and I cabbed over from the surprisingly remote Palm Beach Island to get lunch before we headed back to Virginia. The main area in Lake Worth was dead. I get it, summer is the off-season but with the lack of options anywhere, I found myself wishing I could find a Subway or McDonald's. Our first four or five options all looked to be open from what our Yelp app showed, but those were their non Summer hours. They were ALL closed. This place was the only place with halfway decent reviews that was open, unless we wanted to eat at a German sports bar... Umm, yeah. We ordered a crab dip app which looked like mush and tasted like prison food. I was so hungry I managed to eat more than a few bites somehow. I ordered the broiled seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, and dolphin. It tasted like something the worst cook in the world could whip up at home. I'd give them -1 star if it weren't for the great service we received. Our waitress was incredibly prompt and very nice. They had a decent beer selection and all of their drinks were reasonably priced. It felt like a slightly nicer Hooters inside. Go there for pitchers of Sam Adams while you're watching a game. Avoid the seafood.

We went to Dave's on our vacation after hearing that this place was a great Steelers bar. This place was rocking, and the majority of the people in there watching the game were bleeding Black and Gold. The atmosphere of this place was just the first great thing. The food was also great. We ordered some wings, coconut shrimp, and some raw oysters. The wings were pretty delicious. They were cooked perfectly, and the sauces we got, sweet/garlic and schezuan, were great. The sauce was what made the coconut shrimp so great. Finally, the these were the first oysters I ever had; I found out i wasnt the biggest fan of oysters, but my mom loved them, so they mustve been good if you like oysters. Like I said great food and a great atmosphere on game day. The place was packed with people enjoying the games, and they did not care that we sat there for over 3 hours. Great find; thank you Yelp.

Prices have gone up by 30%, an oyster po boy for $16.99....really? Not cool. This used to be a $10 sandwich. The Scrub sandwich is now $14 too....used to be $9. (rip off)

Dave's is a local favorite in Lake Worth. The atmosphere is casual beach bar with plenty of screens showing a variety of sports. There are a few tables outside which fill up fast. On our last visit we had the seafood cobb salad ($13) and a couple of buffalo shrimp salads ($11.59). All the greens are fresh and the buffalo shrimp were plentiful and tasty. The crab on the cobb salad was shredded and not chunks, but there was enough of it, and the shrimp were small. The place is always hopping and kitchen service can be slow. On this visit it was unusually slow. A good place to hang, watch a game, and people watch in Lake Worth.

We have been going to Dave's for quite some time now. The wait staff is reliably friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials and catch of the day. They are also very accommodating of special orders, such as tossing the fried fish in their many hot sauces. The pitchers are quite expensive, so make sure you go when the specials are on (I think happy hour begins at 2). If you happen to go on a weekend or holiday, be prepared for a LONG wait, grab a beer across the street and hang out. If you have a dog or two, they seem to be very welcome on the outside tables. Overall, we go back again and again, but we miss some of the old grouper specials.

always a good time on the avenue in DT Lake Worth. Party atmosphere and a lot of laughs. Staff super friendly and prices more than reasonable. Happy hour goes a long way as well as food specials to go along with the drinks. A lot of TV's as well so you can catch the game while you catch up with friends.

I ordered fried oyster appetizer and 10 of the hottest wings that they have. I ordered them to go. The customer service was excellent and the oysters were great. However, the wings were the blandest most mildest wings I have ever had in my life. Why did they even bother how I wanted them done. BIg disappointment. Will never order hot wings from here again!!!!

The owner contacted me and was concerned about my experience. I think that says a lot about a restaurant because at the end of the day most places just want your money. I originally gave them one star but I changed it to two stars because if/and/when I find myself back in the area I will with trepidation give them another shot. Maybe I was there on an off day, bad moment or the stars were not aligned in my favor. I do believe in second chances for our fellow mankind and on occassion for business experiences.

Server Sheryl is short with us and unfriendly with her attitude and was often too busy to help. We do not get the feeling she cares about customers. I felt uncomfortable around her in general. Went outside to change tables and she left our food inside without asking if we wanted our food when we'd clearly moved. Clam chowder was thick, salty and unappealing but my friend liked it. The fish dip was delicious as was the calamari. Nicely fried. Would be 4/5 if service didn't suck. She didn't check on us nearly enough. She also took our payment of cash without bringing back our change. We had to ask for it back, and it has taken over 20 minutes to receive it. We then learned she left early after being asked to give us our change. Manager delivered our change after we discussed with him further about the situation.

This is your typical hole-in-the-wall bar. However, the atmosphere is really laid-back casual, and everyone (the staff and the patrons) was friendly and seemed to be having a good time. We ate outside and that was pretty nice; can't speak for the inside. Dogs are welcome outside so be prepared... all the dogs we saw were pretty good, well-behaved dogs. The food was great. My boyfriend and I shared a plate of nachos which was perfect. I had the kabob platter and it was *fantastic*, although the portions were a little on the small side. My boyfriend had a mango-swordfish dish that was pretty tasty. The wait-staff was super friendly.

OK, I am giving 5 stars to DLR as it is my favorite place in S. Florida!! Its not the food........ which is typically good but uneven. If I was rating Daves on the food, it would probably rate 3 stars, not 5. I just love the outdoor seating there along the cool and quaint downtown LW Road, the cold beers, friendly waitresses and good seafood.... I dont know, there is something about this place that says it has "it"... kindof like Bostons on the beach in Delray but without having the magnificent beach as the backdrop. The food here is quite good for the most part, and the raw bar seafood is very fresh, (which is mandatory) dynamite clams and oysters..... The fried grouper is usually spectacular, although sometimes the idiot chef F's it up, and the shrimp nachos are phenomenal. A great place for a date or to bring out of town guests as it captures the uniqueness of downtown LW and has good food to boot.

Dave's is truly a last resort if maybe it was the last restaurant on the planet. If it just served beer then it might not be so bad but then again there just might be a chance they screw that up too. The food if you can call it that is probably something that we might see televised in one of Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmare shows where in the kitchen, really horrible and disgusting things are taking place. For starters I had the conch fritters, the batter was very chewy not crispy and the conch was dry and leathery. It tasted like it was microwaved and as I was eating I had a horrible chill of one of those kitchen nightmare shows, could I be eating old microwaved food? I order a pepsi and it has this awful flavor, like if a diet soda went flat or maybe if they held their pepsi in a burnt plastic container. As hungry as I was I decided to maybe tough it out and I ordered the catch of the day Mahi Mahi and my girlfriend ordered a shrimp and scallop scampi. When we got our food our jaws dropped in absolute dismay. The scampi was unrecongnizable. It had diced tomatoes on top, the very kind you might find topping a taco bell nacho spread. The scallops were chopped and the shrimp seemed to hide underneath those really creepy tiny tomatoes. All of this sat on top of pasta and they say the eyes eat first and in this case, the eyes nearly wept. I did not fair any better, my fish was fried to oblivion but in order to get to the core of the fish you had to penetrate the 1 inch crust of bread crumb armor. The most amazing fact was that the catch of the day had an eerily resemblance to Gordon's fish sticks because it had a crust that when peeled seemed that instead of being added during some kitchen prep hour it was maybe part of the very fish itself! A sort of barnacle of bread, salt, and more bread. To top it off the fish sat on a bed of what appeared to be instant rice and the fries were soaked in oil, wilted, and just a shadow of it's former studly self. I looked at my girlfriend and we both knew we could not eat this, despite our hunger and desperation to be fed we knew we had to speak up about this absolute travesty of a restaurant. We called the manager and as cordially as we could, we told him that the food was an abomination and without much fight he charged us for our drinks and we left in disappointment. Our next destination...McDonald's

Dave's is a great place to watch the game, slam back a few brews, and enjoy some semi-greasy comfort food! Great food and drink specials on game days as well. It's usually quite busy, but servers are always warm and attentive. TV's everywhere, and if they don't have your game on one of them, they'll do their best to find it. One other thing, this is a hard core Steelers bar so Browns fans may want to check their enthusiasm at the door. :)

This place stinks and smells, the HELP here at Dave's is like they go find some homeless people from the street corners, and offer them a job for the day, the girls who work there might as well be crack heads. This is a place for really pathetic type of men, brawls, bad food noisy YEACH!!!

We went with a group of 8 and the waiter was a little frazzled. While it may have taken a little while to get what we needed, he still made sure we got it all. The food was so good. I ordered the Scrub. Delicious =) I tried some of my friends Shrimp (Hot/Spicy) and it was sooo good. No complaints on food. The drinks were another things. I started with a Midnight Margarita. It's basically a blue margarita. It tasted like triple sec and sour mix. I'm not one to complain about drinks because I've bar tended/served before. When I got my drink it was $10! Don't waste your money on it. Order a regular Margarita.

Sat outside. Ordered conch fritters and gator tacos with a side of guacamole. The conch fritters were a great blend of doughy, fried, and spicy. The gator tacos were alright, I ended up eating 2 of the 3, and I took the gator out of the second one and replaced it with some beans and rice. It didn't taste bad, I just wasn't really as in the mood for gator as I originally assumed. I have been several times, the vibe inside is very Florida casual sportsbar.

I've been to Dave's more times that I can count and always had a great experience. I was there a few days ago and was so disappointed in the service and quality of food. We sat outside and waited at least 10 minute for someone to even acknowledge us, and when someone finally did, we were told our server will be with us shortly. After waiting another 5 minutes she finally came. She took out order and everything seemed to be finally the service I remember. Our food arrived and the waitress refilled our drinks. We took the first bite of each of our meals and all looked at each other. It was if they forgot to season anything. The waitress never came to ask how our food was. After another 15 minutes she finally came by. At this time all of our drinks were empty and we were just ready to leave. We asked for refills and the check. 10 more minutes go by and still nothing. She walked by our table 4 times to help others. There were only 3 other groups sitting outside so it wasn't as if she was really busy. On her 5th trip past out table she said "oops I forgot, I'll be right back". 5 minutes later she brought the check with no refills. Knowing the slowness we all wish we had brought cash so we wouldn't have to wait for her to process the card. She finally came to check us out, and this time we waited 7 minutes. ( and we timed each activity just to see). She again walked past out table 3 times without bringing the receipt. Not knowing where my card was at this time I finally stopped her asking for the receipt so we can leave. 8 minutes later she brought the receipt and we left. She saw that our meals were hardly touched and didn't ask how it was or even if we wanted it to go. When she went to clear the table she stood on the other side of the table and reached her hand out and asked me to give her my plate, she couldn't even walk around the table to do her job and clean the table. I am usually a 20%-30% tipper but this time I just couldn't see the value in her service, why should I reward bad service? Will I go back? Maybe just because it's been good before but I will probably leave if she is still there.
